The purpose of the Nanaimo Church of the Nazarene is to glorify God through worship, bringing people to Jesus and membership in His family, developing them into Christ-like maturity, and equipping them for their ministry in the Church and life-mission in the world.

The Nanaimo Church of the Nazarene is a gathering of people who have experienced the grace of God through faith in Jesus Christ.

It is our desire that everyone discovers the reason God has put us on this earth. We are created to love God and glorify Him through our lives, but sadly our sin gets in the way of that. Since we could do nothing to rid ourselves of our sin problem, God sent His Son, Jesus, to rescue us through his sacrificial death on a cross. Now if we will confess our sinfulness, repent (turn away from a life without God) and invite Jesus into our lives as our Lord and Saviour, we gain a personal relationship with God as His child, and life eternal. That is a great offer from God Himself! We pray you know this “Good News” because you have experienced its life changing truth through faith in Jesus.

As Christians we need support and fellowship. That is the purpose of the local church. This is why God planted the Nanaimo Church of the Nazarene in this community. We hope you will visit us some day, and experience the presence of God through His Spirit as we worship and fellowship and serve together.

OUR PASTOR

Rev.

Gary Nawrocki

Greetings, my name is Gary Nawrocki, and I am the lead pastor at the Nanaimo Church of the Nazarene. My wife, Lise, and I arrived in Nanaimo in 2004 with our two children who have now grown and moved on to their own adventures. This is the third congregation Lise and I have been blessed to be a part of in pastoral leadership, and we are excited by what God has done in this church over the past nearly two decades. I believe that we are involved in discipleship at all times as believers, so I am constantly looking at what God is teaching us in every event. I believe in education (in all its various forms) and have been privileged to attend CNC (now Ambrose University) and Nazarene Theological Seminary. God called me to be a pastor when I was just a fifteen year old boy, and that call has been the consistent anchor of my life. I desire to see people connected with Jesus, and experience the wonderful abundant life He promises us (John 10:10). I love studying the Word of God and attempting to make it come alive for other people. I like to drink coffee, so if you are in the area, join me!
